At the rake the drip edge is installed over the underlay. Slip the wide flat flange of the material all the way under the first course of roof shingles as illustrated. Align the leading bottom edge of the first piece on the gable rake with the front edge of the drip edge installed on the eave. No cutting is needed for this piece.
